Congratulations to our amazing AJSH Crusader Wrestling Team who competed for Assumption at the Rural Championships Feb 28 and March 1. Riley Papalia placed 1st and Venus Laboucane placed 2nd. They won 2nd overall, earning them a spot to compete at ASAA Provincials.
At ASAA Provincials this past weekend. They earned 3rd overall for the Women's Team with just 2 athletes against schools with 10 or more athletes!
At Provincials, Riley Papalia placed 3rd and Venus Laboucane placed 9th - amazing results for our Grade 10 student-athletes! We see great things for their futures. Congratulations ladies!!

Steam 8
Students in Steam 8 engaged in developing their engineering and math skills by creating various parachutes using a range of materials. They conducted multiple tests to determine which parachute achieved the slowest descent to accurately land on a target. Students were required to calculate the velocity of each parachute's descent. This activity provided a highly engaging opportunity for students to learn through the process of trial and error.

Over the course of several weeks, Grade 8 Science students engaged in interactive and exciting hands-on learning activities. This included constructing plant and animal cells, observing cells under a microscope, and enhancing their understanding of osmosis and diffusion by examining the effects of these processes on eggs, gummy bears, vegetables, and the interaction of iodine with corn starch.

Due to current weather conditions, some school buses may be delayed this afternoon. We appreciate your patience as our drivers prioritize safety on the roads.

March 17th at lunch in the foyer will be a float sale fundraiser! All 4 Crush varieties and Mountain Dew are available. $3 each of 2 for $5.

Students and staff at AJSH are simply AMAZING!!!! For Lent, our school chose to support the local Stepping Stones Crisis Centre's "Building Better Futures" campaign. Our goal is to raise $1500 (~to help furnish a single room) - $2500 ( for a double). Through fundraising efforts and donations, we have already reached $1023.92!!! Please reach out to the school if you would like to donate and/ or support our fundraising efforts. Way to go Crusaders!!!

Congratulations to Levi Poirier and Jayce Lobb! We are so proud of you both for being chosen as Assumption School’s Crusaders of the Month! This recognition is well-deserved, as you have shown what it truly means to be hardworking, respectful, and caring individuals. Your dedication to looking out for others, standing up for what’s right, and always striving to be the best person you can be is inspiring to everyone around you. Keep shining and leading by example – the school is lucky to have role models like you!

Students in Miss Murray's Grade 7 Science class explored plant processes through a hands-on celery lab! 🌱💧 By observing how water moves through celery stalks, students gained a deeper understanding of transpiration and fluid conduction in plants. This experiment connects directly to the Alberta Grade 7 Science curriculum, helping students investigate key life processes such as diffusion, osmosis, and gas exchange. #HandsOnLearning #ScienceInAction #Grade7Science #Transpiration

SAVE THE DATE!!
AJSH is pleased to announce our first ever PAC Fundraising Golf Tournament, June 7th.
This exciting event held at the beautiful Grand Centre Golf Course will be a 4-person scramble format and includes supper, raffles, and door prizes. Get a team together and have some fun while raising money to support AJSH!
