Participation reminds us that we are called to be active members of our communities—working together, supporting one another, and contributing to the common good.

April’s Catholic Social Teaching highlights the importance of each person’s voice and the responsibility we share in building strong, caring communities. It reminds us that everyone has a role to play, and that each contribution matters.

In our schools, Participation is reflected in the ways students engage in learning, share their ideas, support their peers, and take part in school life. It fosters a strong sense of belonging, responsibility, and connection.

Assumption School's Senior Band had a memorable trip to Vancouver this past week. Students participated in a workshop at the Vancouver Academy of Music, watched a performance of Hollywood movie classics at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and experienced Flyover Canada. They also enjoyed shopping at Granville Island, performing at a Senior Centre, a Retirement Community and Robson Street and saw the musical, Les Misérables. They also visited the Capilano Suspension Bridge, enjoyed a Jazz Trio and went bowling!

Thank you to Mrs. Keizer for all the hard work she put into planning this amazing experience, as well as BrightSpark and our fantastic tour guide, Austin. Thank you to Mr. Seitz, Mrs. Seguin, Mr. Ricketts, Mrs. Ralph and Mrs. Vining for coming along as supervisors and to our amazing students, who played their hearts out and made the most of a wonderful trip with their peers!
