Congratulations to the Assumption Jr./Sr. High School Crusaders Class of 2026!

Friday evening marked a meaningful celebration of faith, perseverance, growth, and achievement as graduates crossed the stage surrounded by family, friends, staff, and community leaders who have supported them throughout their journey.

Lakeland Catholic School Division was honoured to celebrate alongside distinguished guests including Deputy Superintendent of System Excellence Jody Seymour, MLA Scott Cyr, Mayor Bob Mattice, Reeve Barry Kalinski, Chief of Cold Lake First Nations Kelsey Jacko, and many others who came together to recognize this important milestone.

Throughout their time at Assumption, these graduates have grown in knowledge, character, leadership, and faith, preparing to make a meaningful difference within their communities and beyond.

As the Crusaders Class of 2026 begins the next chapter of their journey, we pray they move forward with courage, purpose, and trust in God’s plan for their lives.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3

Congratulations, graduates. Your future is filled with promise.

Students in ELA 10-2 learned the ancient Chinese strategy game of GO. They practiced the skills of patience, observation, and seeing the whole board before making their next move, while making connections to characters who do the same in the mystery screenplay they are currently reading. This game also offered them some context to the screenplay, as it was the game that helped kick off the mystery that needed solving. Have you ever played GO?

On Friday, we reflect on Blessed Carlo Acutis, a young witness of faith who reminds us that holiness is possible in our everyday lives.

“The Eucharist is the highway to Heaven.”

His example calls us to live our faith with purpose and to keep Christ at the centre of all we do.

On Thursday, we reflect on St. Kateri Tekakwitha, whose quiet strength and deep faith continue to inspire us.

“I am not my own. I have given myself to Jesus. He must be my only love.”

Her example reminds us of the strength found in faith, trust, and devotion.

Today, students from Assumption Jr./Sr. High School and École Notre Dame High School explored future pathways at the Lakeland Regional Career Expo!

With a wide variety of exhibitors and hands-on opportunities, students had the chance to connect with industry professionals, ask questions, discover career possibilities, and gain valuable insight into future education and workforce opportunities right here in our region.

Events like this are important because they help students build connections, explore career interests, and gain real-world insight into the many pathways available to them — with opportunities that can even lead to future apprenticeship and career pathways.

The future is full of opportunity!

On Wednesday, we reflect on St. Teresa of Calcutta, whose life reminds us that faith is lived through simple acts of love and service.

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Congratulations to the AJSH Senior Band and the AJSH Grade 9 Band on both earning Superior ratings at the 2026 Red Deer Band Festival yesterday! Your dedication, commitment, and countless hours of practice throughout the year were clearly reflected in your outstanding performances.

A special thank you to our Band Director, Mrs. Keizer, for her leadership in preparing the bands and organizing the trip, which brought our largest festival groups yet, with 119 students performing.

Thank you as well to our parent supervisors and staff members who accompanied the trip and supported our students throughout the day. It was truly a memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved!

On Tuesday, we reflect on St. John Bosco, a champion for youth whose life was dedicated to guiding young people with faith, encouragement, and care.

“Do not let yourself be discouraged by any failure, as long as you have done your best.”

May his example remind us of the importance of supporting and uplifting one another.
