Today, Assumption Jr/Sr High welcomed the new school year with joy and gratitude, celebrating Mass with Fr. Nong. Students, prayer tables, and classrooms were blessed, a meaningful reminder to carry God’s presence with us throughout the year.

Last year, 75 AJSH students stepped up for Hungry for Change, raising $2,623.90 and 280.7 Kgs of food.
Can we beat those numbers this year?
Bring in non-perishable food donations tomorrow to the foyer during the day or later at AJSH, Sobeys, or No Frills between 4-6 pm. For donations at AJSH in the evening, please stay in the right lane on Highway 28 and turn into the church parking lot, or use the drop-off lane in front of the school to minimize disruption to local traffic.

Assumption Jr/Sr High School staff gathered for Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Cold Lake this morning joined by Trustees Penner & Lefebvre. Grounding the new school year mission as Catholic educators in faith & community, Fr. Nong reminded them that even when things are tough, to carry their crosses with love as Jesus did.

Our ELA 10-1 students took their vocabulary learning off the page today with a gallery walk! Students showcased key terms in creative and engaging ways, then rotated around the room to explore and interact with their classmates’ work.
This activity not only deepened their understanding of challenging words but also encouraged collaboration, discussion, and a fresh perspective on how language shapes meaning.
