Halloween is in full swing at AJSH this morning!
Great costumes, spooky hair designs in cosmo, and potlucks in classrooms! There will be a costume contest, cookie decorating, and trivia game run by our leadership students at lunchtime today. Stay tuned for more pics! #AJSHloveshalloween

Remember no School Friday for students
Students and staff at AJSH would like to thank Clarence Whitestone for presenting to our Grade 10 students on Treaty. Clarence talked about the days before, during and after Treaty. He also shared his own personal history and spoke about trauma from time spent in residential schools. Clarence concluded the presentation with a strong message to the students about the power of forgiveness.
On Saturday, October 26, parishioners of St. Louis Parish gathered at mass to celebrate Fr. Rene's 43rd anniversary of Ordination. God Bless you Fr. Rene and thank you for your many years of service. Thank you for praying over us, praying with us and praying for us.
During Catholic Education Week, students at AJSH were learning all about Catholic symbols. Through this beautiful art piece, created by students and stitched together by Mrs. Parker, students depicted our united school community, a community of faith, serving God and each other.

During CEW, AJSH students explored places of worship and world religions in Edmonton. A highlight was Sacred Heart Catholic Church, redesigned to reflect Indigenous culture. The church also gives back by serving hundreds of meals daily. Watch here: https://5il.co/2zpl2

Students from Assumption school went on a "Religions of the World" tour yesterday in Edmonton. They visited Al Rashid Mosque, Sacred Heart Church and Chin Yin Buddhist Temple, where dynamic faith leaders shared the rich history of each of their faith communities while drawing on similarities to our Catholic teachings.
