Today, Lakeland Catholic honours the women in our division, our schools, and our communities who lead with faith and serve with great love — often through the small, faithful acts that shape lives in lasting ways.
“The Lord bless you, my daughter. You are known as a woman of noble character.” – Ruth 3:11
May we continue to recognize and support the women whose dedication, wisdom, and compassion strengthen our schools and support student success each day.

Building Community and Connections at Lakeland Catholic
As a Lakeland Catholic family, we are deeply committed to ensuring every student feels a true sense of belonging. Guided by our faith, we strive to create a home where all are welcome, safe, and celebrated.
Yesterday was dedicated to strengthening those connections and honoring the diverse cultures within our school community through prayer, fellowship, and shared experiences. We were reminded that while we may come from many different parts of the world, we are united in God’s love. Each student’s story and unique strengths enrich our schools and help broaden our understanding of the world around us.
Every student heard the message clearly: at Lakeland Catholic, all are welcome and all belong.
A heartfelt thank you to:
• Fr. René for his beautiful blessing upon our students
• Remie Pilapil and C.K. for providing an incredible meal
• Our student leaders who organized team-building activities and games
• Students who shared prayers in multiple home languages
• Action for Healthy Communities, a non-profit settlement and integration organization, for joining us and connecting with our students
Thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday a meaningful celebration of community, culture, and belonging — what a blessing for our Lakeland Catholic community.

Students practiced travelling together in deep snow while learning important group roles such as the lead and the sweeper, making sure no one was left behind. They also worked on techniques for moving efficiently uphill and downhill in snowy conditions.
Lots of deep snow, lots of progress, and plenty of fun along the way! Great days of learning and enjoying the outdoors at AJSH!
