As we enter the holy season of Advent, a time of preparation and hope, the Religion 10 class has decided to embrace the spirit of giving by organizing a Clothing Drive in support of Kokum's Corner. This initiative reflects our Catholic call to serve others and share Christ’s love during this sacred time of year. Students, staff and families are encouraged to participate by donating clean, gently used winter clothing (~ jackets, hats, mittens, scarves, boots). All other clothing items are also welcomed. Warm, winter socks would be greatly appreciated.

Hope lights the way this Advent. In the first week of Advent, students from Light of Christ Catholic School and Holy Family Catholic School reflect on what hope means to them. 🕯️ Watch the video@ https://youtu.be/yU5po3Vh-6c Let’s spread the light of hope this season!

Thanks to Imperial Oil's continued generosity and support of our "Mental Health Matters" campaign and Cold Lake Food Bank's incredible donation of fresh BC apples, students at AJSH received a wonderful surprise at noon today. Office staff arranged and operated a free "Apple Bar" in the foyer. We served over 400 students sliced apples with an array of fun toppings. ( ~Many others chose to eat them plain). At home-time, students were also gifted free bags of apples to take home to their families. True to Advent preparation, our hearts are full.

Students and staff at AJSH gathered today to mark the beginning of the Advent season. “Advent” means “arrival,” and on each of the four Sundays preceding Christmas, an Advent candle is lit. The 4 candles of Advent; hope, love, joy, and peace, represent the virtues Jesus brought us, helping us to prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of Christmas.
This week we centre our thoughts on Hope.
Psalm 119:114: “You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word."
