Congratulations to AJSH grade 10 students, Kunmi Ajayi and Carter Williams, for being selected as scholarship winners for the Enriched Academy Scholarship in January 2025. Kunmi and Carter both won $500 for completing the Enriched Academy Program in their Career and Life Management classes this semester and submitting an essay or video entry outlining what they learned from the program and how financial literacy will benefit them. The next chance for students to submit an entry will be before the end of the school year. Any student that has completed the Enriched Academy Program this year is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students can win a scholarship between $500 and $2000!

ESL Class Creating a safe and supportive environment in our ESL/ EAL (English as a Second/ Additional Language) class at Assumption was paramount this year. Students loved it so much that they were sad to see the semester end. One student even wrote: “This semester, the ESL class became a “safe” space for me, where I don’t need to stress out or rush and can actually enjoy the time.”

bus cancellation
Crusaders! All AM buses are cancelled for January 20 due to extreme cold. Buses are scheduled to run in the afternoon. High school diploma exams will proceed for all students who can safely get to school. Contact the school if you have any questions. Our school will be open and regular classes will proceed. Programming may be modified if large numbers of students are absent. If your child will be absent due to bus cancellations, or for any other reason, please let us know. You can report an absence using the School Messenger app, or by calling the school directly. Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure that all of our students who plan to attend arrive safely. If you do not notify the school of your child’s absence, you may receive an automated attendance call asking you to call and confirm that they are absent. Stay Warm and travel safely! God Bless.
