Recognizing Our Principals
On May 1, we marked Principal Appreciation Day—a time to recognize the work our principals do across Lakeland Catholic.
Our principals are entrusted with the care and direction of their school communities. They support staff, guide students, and help ensure each school is a place where learning, faith, and belonging are present every day.
Their work is thoughtful and constant–shaped by attention to detail, long hours, and a steady commitment to keeping their schools running smoothly and with purpose.
We are grateful for each of our principals and the excellence they bring to our schools. Thank you for your continued service to Lakeland Catholic.

Assumption teachers, educational assistants, custodians, and support staff are hard at work today looking at strategies for improvement to embed in our School Assurance Plan.
Staff members are hard at work looking for data-driven ways to improve our four priority areas as a school: Our Catholic Christian Identity, Student Success, Inclusion, Equity and Wellness, and Organizational Excellence.
Their work today will form the foundation of our 2026-2027 School Assurance Plan that we can't wait to share with our community.

🌎 Stewardship of Creation
God has entrusted us with the gift of creation, and we are called to care for it with gratitude and responsibility.
Stewardship of Creation reminds us that caring for the Earth is part of living our faith. Through our actions, we honour God’s creation and protect it for future generations.
As a Catholic community, we are called to be good stewards – caring for our common home with love, respect, and intention.

Congratulations to Seth C. in grade 10 for being drawn as one of the April winners in our Small Things with Great Love draw.
Seth volunteered his time to help Madame Annie with the snowshoes at school, showing that even small things can be done with great love to help others!

On Wednesday, April 22, Assumption students in Grade 11 took part in our annual Temple Tour where they visited Nanaksar Gurdwara Sikh Temple, Beth Shalom Synagogue, Al Rashid Mosque, Sacred Heart Catholic Church of the First Peoples, and Chin Yin Buddhist Temple.
At the heart of this trip is our Catholic calling to grow in understanding, compassion, and respect for all people. The experience helped to challenge misunderstandings and reduce stereotypes, fostering a spirit of openness and dialogue with other faith traditions. It was a great day!
