Treaty 6 Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we gather on Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional lands of the First Nations and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

We honour the Elders and knowledge keepers—past and present—and the ongoing spiritual connection Indigenous peoples have with this land.

As Catholic educators and leaders, we are all Treaty people, made by God for relationship, wonder, mercy, and reconciliation.

Reconciliation is not just about land—it’s about people and restoring relationships. We acknowledge the lasting impact of Residential Schools and accept our role on the front lines of healing and truth.

In response to Call to Action 62.2, we are committed to integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods into our classrooms, so that all students are uplifted and all voices are heard.

We are grateful for the many who have made this land home, and for the welcome extended to all who come to live, learn, and grow here.
